Masterclass by Caroline Hadley: Supporting the Development of Contemporary Acting Education

As part of ongoing support for international educational initiatives for Ukrainian artists, an online masterclass was held by Caroline Hadley, Head of the Drama & Acting programme at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).
The session focused on the theme “Being Human: Developing Stage Presence and Performer Confidence” and brought together students and teachers of the Kyiv Municipal Academy of Circus and Performing Arts, both in person and online.

During the masterclass, participants were introduced to contemporary approaches in British theatre education and gained practical tools for developing stage presence, inner focus, physical awareness, and confidence as performers.
A key value of the session was its practical orientation: students were able not only to receive new knowledge but also to apply it directly in exercises, exploring their own сценічну мову and developing their individual artistic voice.
The masterclass was conducted in English with Ukrainian translation, ensuring accessibility and active participation for a wide audience.
Such educational initiatives are made possible through international collaboration and partnership support, contributing to the integration of Ukrainian students into the global artistic context. The Charitable Foundation for the Development of Ukrainian Art continues to support projects like this, creating new opportunities for the professional growth of emerging artists.
